If a portion of your solar system is used to generate income — a registered home office, a small consultancy, an e-commerce business, a smallholding running as a registered enterprise — that proportionate share may qualify under Section 12B for the 100% year-one deduction. We can't give tax advice, but we'll give your accountant the documentation they need.

Common questions from home owners.
Why don't you do smaller systems?
The sub-10kW market competes on price in a way we won't engineer to. We chose to focus on systems where the equipment, layout and back-up sizing actually matter — and where we can build something we'd put on our own home. If you need a smaller system we're happy to refer you to someone we trust.
Can I really go fully off-grid?
From 20kW upwards, with adequate battery storage, yes — most lifestyle estate and smallholding homes can run off-grid. For most family homes we recommend hybrid (grid-tied with battery back-up) as the economic sweet spot.
What about the geyser, pool pump and aircons?
All handled. The right approach is to schedule heavy loads to run during peak solar — geyser in the morning, pool pump midday, dishwasher at lunchtime. We set this up during installation. You don't have to think about it.
How does back-up work during load shedding?
When the grid drops, the inverter switches your house to battery and solar within milliseconds. You won't see a flicker. The system stays online through the entire outage and recharges from solar or the grid when either returns.
What warranty do you offer?
25 years on tier-1 panels (Canadian Solar, LONGi, JA Solar or Trina Solar). 10 years on tier-1 LiFePO4 batteries (Greenrich, Tesla). 5 years standard on hybrid inverters, extendable. 5 years on QES workmanship.
Do estate trustees usually approve?
Almost always — provided the design respects the estate aesthetic. We've done lifestyle estate installs across Gauteng and know what bodies corporate look for. We prepare the architectural drawings on your behalf.
